Nov. 10: CLC holds Veterans Day Ceremony, resource fair and breakfast with Lovell Federal Health Care Center

The College of Lake County's annual Veterans Day Ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 in Room A013 at the Grayslake Campus, 19351 W. Washington St. in Grayslake. The keynote speaker will be Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center Navy Capt. Paul Roach, a combat trauma surgeon who led a medical and surgical company that supported a Marine Corps offensive in southern Afghanistan in 2014.

This is the fifth annual event co-sponsored by CLC and Lovell FHCC. The ceremony honors those who have served in the U.S. military and will feature U.S. Navy and CLC speakers, a soloist from Naval Station Great Lakes and a color guard.

Prior to the event, Congressman Brad Schneider will host a veterans' breakfast, in cooperation with the Student Veterans Club of CLC, from 9:30-11 a.m. in Café Willow. To RSVP, visit www.schneider.house.gov/veteransbreakfast or call (847) 383-4870.

Veterans are also invited to attend a Veteran Resource Fair in the A Wing Lower Level from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants can visit with representatives from Lovell FHCC (service and benefit entitlements to veterans and military service members, including VA registration and enrollment); Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs; Lake County Veterans & Family Services Foundation; Veterans Employment Program/Catholic Charities; Lake County Veterans Assistance Commission; CLC Veterans Student Services; and CLC Student Veterans Club.

Visitor parking is available in Staff Parking Lot 7. Please enter at the A Wing door.
