Youth Symphony of DuPage to hold fall audition for new members Aug. 17

The audition registration for the Youth Symphony of DuPage is now open for the 2019-20 concert season.

The audition for the new member candidates will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at North Central College's Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. in Naperville.

Auditions are open to advanced middle and high school students along with talented younger musicians who play strings, winds, brass, or percussion with at least 3 years on their instrument with private instruction and playing with proficiency for advanced orchestral performance.

The first concert for the season will be performed at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, in the Wentz Concert Hall.

The Youth Symphony of DuPage is dedicated to bringing advanced ensemble training and performance opportunities to talented young musicians from DuPage County and the surrounding area.

It offers ensemble and chamber opportunities for students who wish to continue challenging themselves. Professional coaches guide students through their musical selections to help develop and refine their musical skills.
