Woodlands Academy Summer School Again Includes Middle School Girls

Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart's 2017 summer school program provides opportunities for girls to earn some credit, enrich themselves or improve their sports skills. And, once again, this year's program at the all-girls college-prep high school in Lake Forest will include middle school students in two of its enrichment options.

While most offerings are for high school-age students, girls entering grades 6 through 8 this fall can enroll in either the all-girls Shakespeare or robotics enrichment classes. Shakespeare participants will stage and perform the comedy "As You Like It." The robotics class is designed to bring STEM to life, with an emphasis on programming, for both the advanced and beginning student.

Summer school classes are open to Woodlands Academy students or any female student in the appropriate grade. The school is offering a semester of high school credit for classes in art, economics, photography and theology June 5-23. Taking a class for credit in the summer is a great way to free time for schedules in the regular school year.

A high school enrichment class in ACT preparation will be offered June 12-23 while sports camps for basketball, field hockey and volleyball will be held June 5-9 at Woodlands Academy.

For a complete listing of summer school classes and to register online, visit www.woodlandsacademy.org/summerschool. Registration and full payment must be received by Friday, May 5.

If registration does not meet minimum requirements (usually five students), the class will be cancelled and all fees paid will be refunded.
