Girls volleyball/Fox Valley roundup

Jenny Dumoulin had 14 kills and Holley Meathe added 11 digs Tuesday night as the Hampshire girls volleyball team won its first Fox Valley Conference Fox Division match, outlasting Woodstock 25-18, 21-25, 27-25.

The Whip-Purs (4-13, 1-3) were down 20-10 in Game 3 before storming back to win.

Westminster Christian d. Mooseheart: Whitney Vanden Bos had 5 aces to lead the Warriors (12-4, 4-1) to a 25-9, 25-21 Northeast Athletic Conference win. Savannah Dutcher (3 kills) and Cara Tyrell (6 aces, 3 kills) also contributed for Westminster.

CL South d. Dundee-Crown: Nicole Slimko had 7 kills and Katie Meyers added 12 digs to lead Crystal Lake South to a 25-14, 25-17 FVC Valley win. Carly Nolan added 3 aces for the Gators (6-6, 2-3). Jillian Hostetler had 3 kills, Tess Barnes 7 assists and Alex Shemanske 8 digs to lead the Chargers (4-8, 0-4).

Lake Park d. South Elgin: Ashley Oandasan and Amanda Nadler each had 8 kills for South Elgin (5-9-1, 1-2) in a 25-16, 22-25, 25-14 loss in the Upstate Eight Valley. Rachel Murray had 10 digs for the Storm and Maggie Jakaitis added 10 digs and 21 assists.

Burlington Central d. Harvard: Allie O’Reilly had 17 assists, 3 kills, 3 digs and an ace as Burlington Central (11-7, 3-0) stayed unbeaten in the Big Northern East with a 25-11, 26-24 win. Samantha Bohne (4 kills, 10 digs, 5 aces), Brenda Thasavong (5 spike kills, 5 block kills), Lexie Bouza (6 kills) and Stephanie Sipinski (14 digs, 1 ace) also contributed for the Rockets.

Elgin Academy d. Francis Parker: Angie Martinez had 18 assists, Clare Fluegel 5 kills and 7 digs and Bridgett Keslinske 10 kills and 5 digs to lead Elgin Academy (5-7, 2-2) to a 25-9, 25-12 Independent School League win.
