Over 700 cyclists expected for 49th annual Swedish Days Ride June 24

The Fox Valley Bicycle and Ski Club expects over 700 riders of all ages and ability at the 49th annual Swedish Days Ride, a premier biking event in Northern Illinois.

This event will take place on beautiful, scenic country roads west of Geneva and St. Charles, across the entire length of Kane County.

The ride starts and ends near Burlington at Central High School on Plato Road, one mile west of Route 47. Registration opens at 6 a.m. and continues until 9:30 a.m.

Register in advance at www.fvbsc.org with a credit card until Thursday, June 21.

Registering through June 4 costs only $25 for a single rider and $40 for a family. Starting June 5, it costs $30 or $50 for a family. Registration the day of the event is by cash or check only. For T-shirt or water bottle purchases, registration by Monday, June 4, is recommended to ensure availability.

The ride fee includes refreshments and snacks, including home-baked cookies, at rest stops and ice cream and watermelon at the end of the ride. Each route is well marked. Ride options are 27, 44, 74, 106, and 129 miles (double metric), all on paved, low traffic roads. Radio-equipped support vehicles will patrol all routes from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for your safety and convenience.

Note: Mileage and routes are subject to change to avoid road construction. Refer to website for details, GPS routes and cue sheets.
