Dann in reel life: Hef and the Hornet

Earlier this week, novelist/film historian Raymond Benson (my partner-in-crime for Dann and Raymond's Movie Club) received an invitation to screen the new “Green Hornet” movie with Hugh Hefner at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles.

Of course, he went.

I received a call from Benson while the Seth Rogen frat-boy reinvention of the superhero film was in progress.

“It's an awful movie,” Benson reported. “People are getting up to get a drink or go to the restroom, anything as an excuse to get out of the screening room.”
