Where's The Beef? It's At WACO's Meat Raffle

Thick and juicy prime grade USDA steaks, 12-pound slabs of bacon (five total), enormous king crab legs, and big beautiful crown pork roasts are just a few of the items you can win at the Woodfield Area Children's Organization's 4th Annual "Steak" Your Claim Meat Raffle fundraiser. Join WACO on Saturday, April 21 from 1-4:30 p.m. at Real Time Sports, 1120 W. Devon, Elk Grove Village.

For just one dollar a chance, you could win racks of lambs, huge prime ribs, beef briskets, scallops, thick stuffed pork chops, and all sorts of other items. There will also be dozens of door prizes, other raffles and surprises.

"This is the best event. It's so much fun, and the meat is really good," says WACO supporter Scott Modglin. "I've been to every meat raffle and still haven't won the bacon. I'm hoping this will be my lucky year."

"It's always fun to go home and prepare dinner using whatever we won at the meat raffle," says

meat raffle fan Gwen Cooper. "Last year we won a package of two 1-pound ribeye steaks, and the year before that it was scallops. And boy were they good."

WACO is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving disadvantaged children in the northwest and western suburbs. Ninety-seven cents of every dollar WACO raises goes to help the kids. Proceeds from the meat raffle will be used to help WACO take nearly 600 children on a Christmas Shopping Tour in early December. For volunteer opportunities contact Patty pattyneu@sbcglobal.net.
