Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at CLC Lakeshore Campus

Food, fun and entertainment are on tap at the Cinco de Mayo celebration on Thursday, May 2, at the College of Lake County Lakeshore Campus in downtown Waukegan. The event will be held outdoors from noon to 2 p.m. in the CLC Lakeshore Campus courtyard, located at the corner of Genesee Street and Madison Avenue.

Community members are invited to this free celebration, where they can also experience a “Taste of Lakeshore” and learn about the programs and services available at the Lakeshore Campus.

Entertainment will include dancing by students from Miguel Juarez and Abbott Middle Schools in Waukegan, music by DJ David Olivares, and Cinco de Mayo stories told by Lakeshore Campus Student Association members.

Cinco de Mayo commemorates the victory of the Mexicans over the French army at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
