CLC hosting local food seminar
- Article
Benefits of locally grown food, the College of Lake County's expanding campus farm and season-extension techniques such as hoop houses will be covered in a free lunchtime seminar set for 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26. It'll be in Room A217 at CLC's flagship campus in Grayslake. Presenting will be Gianna Fazioli, local foods coordinator at CLC. Among her duties, Fazioli has helped coordinate the college's efforts to provide vegetables and herbs, grown on the Grayslake campus, for the college's new Prairie restaurant that opened last September. No RSVP is required. Lunch will not be provided, but participants are invited to bring their own lunch. The seminar is organized by the college's faculty/staff Environmental Action Committee.
