Clare Oaks Hosts Heart Health Discussion with Nephtali Kogan, M.D., Cardiologist, Alexian Brothers Medical Center on Feb. 20

To celebrate Heart Health Month, Clare Oaks and the Assisi Health Care Center at Clare Oaks will host a series of heart-related screenings, as well as have experts on site to provide tips for seniors to stay heart healthy. The event will take place on Feb. 20 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

To kick off the event, Dr. Nephtali Kogan, cardiologist from Alexian Brothers Medical Center will conduct a 20-minute presentation titled “Understanding Coronary Disease – Why Doctors Do What They Do”, with a Q&A session to follow. After the presentation, a series of stations will be set up to conduct some basic heart screenings, as well as provide additional tips for seniors.

Stations will include:

• Blood pressure screenings

• Pulse ox monitor to measure oxygen saturation levels

• Jane Jarrett, licensed dietician, providing heart healthy eating advice

• Tammy Holzer, wellness director for Clare Oaks for an overview of programs the community has to offer

Light refreshments will be served & the first 100 people will receive a free pedometer.

Clare Oaks is located at 825 Carillion Dr. in Bartlett. The entrance is located a ½ mile east of Route 59 on West Bartlett Road.
