CLC receives budget award

The College of Lake County has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Officers Association of the United States and Canada, CLC President Dr. Jerry Weber announced at the Dec. 18 board of trustees’ meeting.

The award recognized the budget documents prepared by the college for Fiscal Year 2013, covering the period July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013.

According to a statement prepared by the Government Finance Officers Association, the award “reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of government budgeting.”

Weber said that less than 30 community colleges in the nation have received the award and praised the work of Vice President David Agazzi and Controller Andy Williams in preparing the budget documents recognized by the award.

“The college is committed to financial accountability and transparency,” Board Chairman Richard Anderson said. “This award is a nice recognition that our budget documents are supporting that goal.”
