Jacobs wins Huntley tournament: With a 5-0 record, Jacobs notched first place at the Huntley Invitational. Alyssa Ehrhardt had 72 kills and 47 digs to go along with 15 aces to lead the Golden Eagles. Maris Smith added 36 kills and 38 digs, while Mackie Traub had 60 assists and 20 digs. Taylor Lauder added 83 assists and 25 digs, Kassie Kasper had 62 digs, Bridget Wallenberger added 19 kills, Jenna Bilgrien had 17 kills and Katie Mahoney and Rachel Arceneaux had 14 kills each. Jacobs (25-6) beat St. Edward, Johnsburg, Montini, Huntley and St. Ignatius to win the title.

Huntley 4th: The host Red Raiders took fourth place at their own invite, beating Round Lake, Harlem and Belvidere and losing to Jacobs and Richmond-Burton. Erin Lyman (41 digs, 27 kills, 11 aces), Emily Westermeyer (40 kills, 20 digs), Rachel Shores (39 digs), Haley Vitacco (24 kills, 9 digs), Kelsey DeWulff (101 assists, 9 kills) and Elish Reagan (36 digs, 10 aces) led Huntley (10-15) in the tournament.

St. Edward 2-3: The Green Wave beat Johnsburg and Harlem but lost to Jacobs, Montini and Joliet Central at the Huntley Invite. Rena Ranallo (31 kills, 21 digs), Katie Swanson (37 kills, 5 blocks, 5 aces, 23 digs), Cory Kelly (8 kills, 4 blocks), Shannon Igielski (15 kills, 5 aces), Casey Gredzieleski (82 assists, 6 aces), Allison Kruk (30 digs) and Ciara McDowell (19 digs) led St. Edward in the tournament.

Streamwood goes 1-4: The Sabres beat Winnebago but lost to St. Ignatius, Marian Central, Johnsburg and Glenbard North at the Huntley tournament. Hannah McGlone and Brittany Kemp led Streamwood in the two-day event.

At Schaumburg: Cary-Grove finished second at the Schaumburg tournament, beating Larkin, St. Charles North, East Peoria and Schaumburg before losing to Hononegah in the championship match. Alex Larsen (44 digs, 7 aces, 43 kills) and Mallory Wilczynski (16 blocks) led the Trojans (16-13).

Larkin took third in the tournament, beating East Peoria, St. Charles North and Schaumburg but losing to Cary-Grove and Hononegah. Brianna Stewart (46 kills, 19 blocks, 27 digs), Olivia Kofie (39 kills, 7 blocks, 24 digs), Alyssa McGhee (64 assists, 10 digs), Anna Gaston (16 kills, 25 digs), Amelia Gill (7 kills, 27 digs, 8 aces), Natalie Gill (21 digs), Diana Castillo (23 assists, 7 digs) and Paige Grantham (10 blocks) led Larkin (17-14) for the tournament.

Elgin Academy wins title: Brigitte Keslinke had 20 kills, 23 digs and 8 aces and Claire Fugiel added 14 kills, 22 digs and 17 aces as Elgin Academy defeated South Beloit, Harvest Christian’s JV and Faith Lutheran to win the Faith Lutheran tournament. In her first varsity appearance, Maggie Veltri added 5 kills, 8 digs and 42 assists for the Hilltoppers (12-11), while Alysson Wittmeyer had 18 kills and 8 aces.

Westminster Christian d. Luther North: Cara Tyrell had 5 kills and 2 aces and Claire Speweik added 3 kills and 7 aces as Westminster (16-5, 6-1 won its homecoming match Friday night in Northeastern Athletic Conference action.
