Clearbrook's Around the Block in Arlington Heights on Oct. 15
On Oct. 15, 2019, Clearbrook, an organization dedicated to providing innovative services, opportunities, and supports to over 8,000 people impacted by intellectual/developmental disabilities, hosted its first Around the Block event in downtown Arlington Heights. The event kicked off at 4:30 p.m. at Hey Nonny's Restaurant in Arlington Heights, where the registrants were split into groups before embarking on a tasting tour downtown. It featured a variety of menu items, from chips and salsa to hamburger sliders with crispy onion string! Clearbrook would like to thank the restaurants that participated, including: Hey Nonny, Mago Grill and Cantina, Berry Yo, La Tasca, TTOWA, and the Tuscan Market Wine Shop!
The registration fee included a colored Clearbrook backpack (specific to each group), that granted entrance into each restaurant for the tasting. The event also featured a silent auction with a variety of gift baskets to help support Clearbrook!
Proceeds from this event benefitted Clearbrook. Clearbrook provides personalized children's, adult day, employment, residential and clinical services at more than 50 locations throughout northern Illinois. Employing more than 900 people, 92 percent of every dollar raised goes directly into programs and services.
