Immaculate Conception High School Earns Key Academic Accreditation
Immaculate Conception High School President/Principal, Pamela M. Levar, announced that ICHS has earned continuing accreditation from the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), an accreditation division of AdvancED.
Dr. Mark Elgart, President/CEO of AdvancED, the parent organization of NCA CASI, stated, “NCA CASI Accreditation is a rigorous process that focuses the entire school on the primary goal of creating lifelong learners. Immaculate Conception High School is to be commended for engaging in this process and demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.”
NCA CASI provides nationally-recognized accreditation, focused on increasing student performance. To earn accreditation, schools must meet NCA CASI's high standards, be evaluated by a team of professionals from outside the school, and implement a continuous process of school improvement. Accreditation is granted on a five-year term and ICHS has been accredited since 1979.
“Reaffirmation of accreditation by NCA CASI through the AdvancEd process is a significant achievement. Accreditation lends credibility to the Immaculate Conception High School program and diploma currency for our graduates. It recognizes our commitment to provide a high quality of education for all students,” stated Sr. Mary Megan Farrelly, OP, ICHS Assistant Principal and Curriculum Director.
Immaculate Conception High School is the oldest Catholic, coeducational college prep high school in DuPage County. Located in Elmhurst, ICHS is a regional high school that serves students from over forty communities in the western suburbs. For more information, please check the web-site at www.ichsknights.org .
