Singer-songwriter Ruthie Foster and bluesman Eric Bibb join forces for “Thanks for the Joy,” a concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, on the Mainstage of the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd., in Glen Ellyn.

Drawn from a song written by Bibb and performed by Foster, “Thanks for the Joy” features both solo and duet performances melding Southern and old blues forms with a modern edge.

Foster, who released her debut album in 2007, continues to be a force in the blues world. Bibb, who took up guitar at age 7, was nominated for Acoustic Artists of the Year in the 2008 Blues Music Awards.

Tickets to Ruthie Foster and Eric Bibb are $36 for adults, $34 for seniors and $26 for College of DuPage students and youth.
