COD announces new half-tuition adult student award
College of DuPage will offer 40 half-tuition awards for adult students, age 19 and older, beginning summer and fall 2011 semesters.
To qualify for the 2011-2012 Adult Student Award, candidates must be first-time College of DuPage students with no previous College of DuPage coursework. Applicants must also provide proof of a 3.0/4.0 (4.0/5.0) GPA at the most recent institution attended. The Adult Student Award is renewable for up to 64 credit hours at College of DuPage for students who maintain renewal criteria.
Renewal criteria includes enrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester at COD with a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA. In addition, Adult Student Award recipients must enroll in a degree or certificate program at the College.
The application deadline for summer 2011 semester is Monday, May 2. The application deadline for fall 2011 semester is Monday, Aug. 1. Click here for an application form.
“As a community college, it is essential that we find ways to make education accessible,” said Jane Smith, Dean of Enrollment Services. “This program in particular recognizes the efforts of our accomplished adult students who might be entering college for the first time, making a career change, or updating their skills to remain competitive in the workplace.”
