Howl along at Naper Settlement's new 21+ Halloween event on Oct. 22-23

Join Naper Settlement for a howlin' good time at the museum's new Halloween event, "Howlin' at the Moon," for adults 21 or older, on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 22-23.

Guests can come dressed in their best Halloween costumes and enjoy spine-chilling performances, creepy exhibits, local cuisine, beverages, and live music from 5-10 p.m.

Attractions will include fire dancers, a sword swallower, a one-of-a-kind liquid light show, a contortionist, and more.

There also will be a costume contest both days of the event with prizes awarded to the winners.

A stroll around the museum's property will reveal a Dark Art Gallery featuring artwork by Bryn R. Gleason, a Chicago-based intaglio printmaking artist.

The Halloween-themed vendors Dead End Doll Factory, Ursula Naturals, Brook Crossing Candle Company, and the Astrology Center will sell items in the Moonlight Market. The Astrology Center will not be giving tarot or physic readings. They will be selling crystal jewelry, oils, teas, tarot cards, and meditation kits.

Check out the reptile and bug show and the "Bed of Nails." Or stop by the "Graveyard" photo-op.

Billy Brick's Pizza, Belgio's Catering, John's Rib House, and Decadent Flavor will offer a variety of eats in the Food Truck Graveyard.

The Boo-oze Bar will feature Dead Guy Ale, Batsquatch IPA, Schlafly Pumpkin Ale, Stella Artois, and Knotty Vines wine.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to "Howlin' at the Moon" to enjoy live music.

On Friday, Oct. 22, the local band OMT, who perform a variety of music from rock to indie to country, will take the stage from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. followed by the dance and party band Libido Funk Circus from 8 to 10 p.m.

On Saturday, Oct. 23, Here Nor There, a multigenre four-piece band from Indiana, will perform from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Mr. Blotto, the Chicago jam band, will end the night with a performance from 8 to 10 p.m.

"Howlin' at the Moon" runs from 5 to 10 p.m. Oct. 22-23. It is for individuals 21 years of age and older. No one under the age of 21 is permitted. IDs will be checked at the entrance.
