Cantigny Fall Festival features crafts, pumpkins, music, and more Oct. 9
The Cantigny Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 9, promises colorful autumn fun for all ages. Stop by the Parade Field, 1S151 Winfield Road in Wheaton, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Festival admission and entertainment are free with paid parking ($5 per car). Some activities require a small fee, such as pumpkin decorating, hayrides, and the petting zoo.
Over 50 vendors are featured at the craft show and check out the special autumn-theme merchandise in the Cantigny Shop. The Usborne Children's Book Fair will be held inside the Visitors Center. Buy some fall flowers at the plant sale. Food vendors will be on hand.
Live music will include Joe Kalish from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and Second Hand Soul Band from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Kids can try out Cantigny's 80-foot Inflatable Boot Camp, stop by the petting zoo, take a hayride. There also will be pumpkin decorating and craft for kids, as well as interactive strolling entertainment.
See the Giant Juggling Scarecrow from 10 to 11:30 a.m., the Comedy Juggling Show at noon and 2 p.m., and Great Big Bubble Making at 1 p.m. after the first juggling show.
Four DuPage nonprofit agencies have created a themed "CAREcrow" display outside the park's Visitors Center. Vote for your favorite and make a donation. The nonprofit which gets the most votes will get an additional $1,000, on top of the $1,000 grant awarded to each agency by the Robert R. McCormick Foundation.
