Youth Symphony of DuPage auditions due May 31

The Youth Symphony of DuPage is dedicated to serving the surrounding community by providing a nurturing environment where young talent will have an opportunity to grow, not only as musicians, but also as individuals in the pursuit of excellence through music education.

Due to COVID-19, spring auditions for the 2020-21 season will be done by online. The audition for the new member candidates and returning members is due on May 31. The audition videos are also due on May 31.

Auditions are open to advanced middle and high school students along with talented younger musicians who play strings, winds, brass, or percussion with at least two years on their instrument with private instruction and playing with proficiency for advanced orchestral performance.

A concert for the season will be performed in the Wentz Concert Hall in Naperville.

The Youth Symphony of DuPage is dedicated to bringing advanced ensemble training and performance opportunities to talented young musicians from DuPage County and the surrounding area. It offers ensemble and chamber opportunities for students who wish to continue challenging themselves. Professional coaches guide students through their musical selections to help develop and refine their musical skills.

Their concert repertoires are drawn from the standard classical literature to advanced works. Ensemble opportunities are available for members to showcase their talents in smaller groups with performances at concerts and throughout the area.

Youth Symphony of DuPage offers an annual solo Concerto Competition giving the members of both orchestras the opportunity to master concertos and solo performance.
