Signups begin for Serve City Volleyball short season club teams

The Serve City middle school girls volleyball short season program is ideal for sixth- to eighth-grade girls who either are new to club volleyball, don't have time to commit to a full club season, play other sports in addition to volleyball or only want to participate in a short-term season.

Sign-ups are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, so sign up today at www.servecityvolleyball.org/shortseason.

Or, if you prefer, register first for a player evaluation session slated for Feb. 27.

Then, after the evaluation, register your daughter to play on a short season team.

(The evaluation session is not a tryout but will merely help us determine how the two short season teams' rosters will be organized.)

What will you get out of the Serve City short season? Quality coaching, player skill development, valuable tournament experience, a fun team environment and Serve City's unique mix of excellence, relationships and love!

The season starts on Monday, March 5 and concludes on Saturday, May 12.

Players ages 12 to 14 are eligible if born between Aug. 31, 2006 and Sept. 1, 2004. The age level of the teams is 13-U/14-U.

The cost is $320 (which includes two T-shirt uniform tops) plus a $55 USA Volleyball membership fee.

Practices are Mondays from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesdays from 5-7 p.m. The practice locations are Mondays at Community Fellowship Church, 28W240 North Ave. in West Chicago, and Tuesdays at Vineyard Church of DuPage, 1900 Manchester Road in Wheaton.

Teams will practice a total of 18 times with no practice March 26-27 over spring break and compete in four half-day Saturday tournaments, all in the Chicago area.
