COD hosts State University Transfer Day Feb. 23

College of DuPage will host the State University Transfer Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23 in the Student Resource Center, lower level walkway outside of the bookstore.

During SUTD, which is free of charge, representatives from 12 state universities will speak with students and community members about a variety of topics. COD graduates with associate's degrees and students working on their degrees will learn about transfer opportunities, while community members will discover how earning a degree at COD can help them transfer easily to a state university.

“Both students and community members may not be aware of the transfer agreements that several COD programs already have in place with baccalaureate-granting institutions,” said David Villarroel, transfer coordinator in the Office of Academic Partnerships at College of DuPage. “This is a great opportunity to find out how your COD associate's degree can give you the perfect start toward a bachelor's degree.”

Participating schools are Chicago State University, Eastern Illinois University, Governors State University, Illinois State University, Northeastern Illinois University, Northern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville, University of Illinois – Chicago, University of Illinois – Springfield, University of Illinois – Urbana/Champaign, and Western Illinois University.

A similar fair for private colleges and universities will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 8. For more information, call (630) 942-2776 or e-mail villarro@cod.edu.
