COD hosts private colleges fair Feb. 8

College of DuPage will host the Private Illinois Colleges and Universities fair from

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, in the Student Resource Center, Room 2800.

During PICU, which is free of charge and open to the community, college representatives from 35 private educational institutions will speak with students and residents about a variety of topics.

“College and university fairs are wonderful opportunities for our students and graduates to learn about how their associate's degrees can transfer to baccalaureate programs,” said David Villarroel, transfer coordinator in the Office of Academic Partnerships at College of DuPage. “PICU is a great one-stop location that allows our students to get the information they need.

“In addition, we want community members to learn about College of DuPage as an opportunity to earn their associate's degrees and then transfer to baccalaureate programs. Many of our programs already have agreements with baccalaureate-granting schools that spell out what coursework needs to be completed at COD, which makes transferring as seamless as possible.”

Participating schools during PICU are Argosy University, Aurora University, Benedictine University, Bradley University, Columbia College, Concordia University Chicago, DePaul University, DeVry University, Dominican University, Elmhurst College, Eureka College, Illinois College, Illinois Institute of Art – Schaumburg, Kendall College, Lake Forest College, Lakeview College of Nursing, Lewis University, Lexington College, Lincoln College – Normal, Loyola University – Chicago, MacMurray College, McKendree University, Monmouth College, National-Louis University, National University of Health Sciences, North Central College, Northwood University, Resurrection University (formerly West Suburban College of Nursing), Robert Morris University, Roosevelt University, Saint Xavier University, Shimer College, Trinity Christian College, Trinity International University, and University of St. Francis.

A similar fair for state universities will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 23. For more information, call (630) 942-2776 or e-mail: villarro@cod.edu.
