DuPage County Transportation Launches App to Report Road Issues

DuPage County's Division of Transportation recently launched a new web-based application that will allow residents to report potholes, signal outages and other road maintenance or safety issues. The goal of the app is for residents to help keep County roads and trails safe and in good repair.

The web app can be accessed directly at gis.dupageco.org/citizenreporter or through the County's Navigate DuPage app, which is available for iOS and Android devices.

"This app is one more tool in our kit as we work to keep our roads in excellent condition," said DuPage County Transportation Committee Chairman Don Puchalski. "Using the application, motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians can alert us to an unsafe condition immediately so we can remedy the situation much faster. It's a win-win for our taxpayers and our road crews."

The app allows users to provide information about the road issue, a photo detailing the nature of the problem and the exact location of the issue on a map. Users can also look at other existing maintenance or safety issues in their area and add information to those reports.

The app was developed internally through a cooperative effort between the Division of Transportation and the Geographic Information Systems Department.
