College of DuPage board honors interim president Joseph Collins

Dr. Joseph Collins, acting interim president of the College of DuPage, received a book of photos commemorating his service to the college during the June 23 regular board meeting.

The board unanimously passed a resolution thanking Dr. Collins for his tenure as acting interim president of the college since May 2015. New President Dr. Ann Rondeau began her service at the College on July 1, 2016.

Mazzochi noted that input was sought from all trustees, full- and part-time faculty for the resolution.

"Whenever an institution needs to change or evolve or adapt to changing circumstances, those of us in a leadership role have to assess what's acceptable, what's critical, what has flexibility, and how to innovate positively without destabilizing our institution negatively. We've needed to keep our eyes, our ears and our minds open," Mazzochi said. "Today we are in a better place. The man we recognize tonight helped us travel along an uncertain pathway. We are grateful for his service."
