Willow House needs Volunteer Facilitators for Children's & Teen's Support Groups

Willow House provides support to children, teens and their parents coping with grief and the death of their loved one-be it their mom, dad, sister, brother, spouse or child. Peer support groups are offered in Arlington Heights, Libertyville, Chicago and Riverwoods.

Support groups for Children and Teens are co-facilitated by trained Volunteer Group Facilitators. A 20-hour comprehensive training is offered 2 or 3 times annually and includes:

-An experiential and instructive, guiding framework for understanding the grief and loss experience of children, teens and families

-Reviews of educational information and research regarding children and grief

-Instruction on how to be an effective peer support group facilitator

The next training session will be offered in June 2013

Saturday, June 8th 9 am – 4 pm

Wednesday, June 12th 6 pm – 9 pm

Saturday, June 15th 9 am - 4 pm

Wednesday, June 19th 6 pm – 9 pm

*Please Note: You must attend all listed training sessions

Trainings are held at the Willow House Center located at 300 Saunders Road, Riverwoods, IL 60015

A $50 one-time donation is requested to help cover costs of materials & other training expenses. Upon completion of the training, Volunteer Facilitators are asked to make a commitment to co-facilitate at least one group monthly for one year.
