Rain postpones softball, baseball sectionals

Thursday's rain forced the postponement of three Class 4A softball sectional semifinals and a Class 3A baseball sectional semifinal involving area teams to Friday.

The Barrington softball sectional semifinal between Fremd and Elk Grove was rescheduled to 2 p.m. Friday. The winner plays Conant for the title at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The Niles West softball sectional semifinal between Maine West and Glenbrook North was rescheduled to 4 p.m. Friday. The winner plays New Trier for the title at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The Trinity softball sectional semifinal between Leyden and Lane Tech was rescheduled to 4:45 p.m. Friday at Triton College. The winner plays Trinity for the title at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The Grayslake Central baseball sectional semifinal between St. Viator and Vernon Hills was postponed to 4:30 p.m. Friday. The winner meets Grayslake Central for the title at 11 a.m. Saturday.
