United Way of Elgin provides grants to local groups

Submitted by United Way of Elgin

United Way of Elgin is now accepting letters of intent from organizations interested in applying for a 2012-14 grant. The form is available online at www.ctkodm.com/uwelgin/. To access the form, the login is: LOI and password is LOI. The letters of intent are due Monday, Oct. 24.

United Way of Elgin provides grant funding to nonprofit health and human service organization programs based on their ability to impact goals and outcomes identified by the United Way of Elgin.

The letter of intent will determine a program’s eligibility and relevance. Programs will be evaluated on their ability to comply with the eligibility criteria and fit within the United Way of Elgin’s goals. Agencies will be notified as to whether or not they are eligible to continue the application process within one week of submission.

Admission is competitive; United Way evaluates programs on their ability to provide the highest quality services which best meet the needs of the people of the Elgin area.

Programs that meet criteria and are approved to continue the application process will be invited to a training session for the online application from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, in Room UBC 103 at Elgin Community College’s Fox Valley University & Business Center, 1700 Spartan Drive. It is highly recommended that agencies attend the training session.
