Learn about 'The Private Life of an Unloved Bird' with DuPage Birding Club Jan. 13

The DuPage Birding Club will feature "The Private Life of an Unloved Bird" with Katie Fallon at its monthly meeting in January.

The Zoom program will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13.

Vultures flying overhead are a pretty common sight here in Illinois - but how much do you really know about them?

Hear about their fascinating life history by a true expert at the January meeting.

Fallon will offer an intimate look at vultures. Vultures are often overlooked, underappreciated, and unloved, despite the vital role they play in healthy ecosystems.

Worldwide, vultures are more likely to be threatened or endangered than any other group of raptor, but in the United States, turkey and black vultures may be increasing in number.

Based on her book, this fun presentation will discuss the life and times of the noble turkey Vulture, including its feeding, nesting, roosting habits, migratory behaviors, and common misconceptions.
