Village Theatre Guild begins online silent auction May 23

The Village Theatre Guild in Glen Ellyn will hold its first online silent auction starting Sunday, May 23, and continuing to Sunday, June 6.

The auction has a number of very special items for you to bid on. All bidding and payment is handled securely through the online auction site, www.charityauctionstoday.com/auctions/VTG-21423.

Check out the auction site and become a registered bidder to be updated as the auction progresses.

One of the guild members is offering “Sweet Treat of the Month,” where once a month a homemade dessert will be delivered to your home for you to enjoy (included are three cakes, three pies, three cookie trays, and three surprise desserts. You must reside within 30 miles of the theater.

The lineup of items donated includes: unlimited one-year family membership to the Brookfield Zoo with a free parking pass; several framed prints of Monet artwork; a collection of books and movies of Second City and “Saturday Night Live” actors; autobiographies and movies of many of your favorite stage and screen stars; a variety of gift baskets for your reading, eating and drinking desires; books by your favorite authors; books about films, movies and history; handmade items for your home and garden; a number of fun toys and items for the kids; and more.

Village Theatre Guild, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit theater, has been around for 58 years. The theater was once a little school house, and it is over 100 years old.

Due to COVID-19, the season is at a pause. Help Village Theatre Guild with operational expenses until they can once again begin the theater season.
