Over a million dollars in federal grants currently available; county residents are invited to take advantage of free job training opportunities, including remote classes.

The workNet DuPage Career Center would like to remind residents of available free job training for laid-off or furloughed workers and individuals facing economic hardship.

Job training programs provide DuPage County residents with the skills they need to land new employment opportunities in high-growth fields.

Eligible individuals can select training programs in information technology, health care, digital marketing, trucking, manufacturing, and other fields to earn industry-recognized credentials at no cost to themselves.

The cost of training is covered by federally funded grants of up to $10,000 per person. Many programs currently offer remote learning opportunities. Individuals collecting unemployment insurance can continue to do so while attending training.

workNet DuPage participants attend professional development programs and attain new certifications within a matter of months or even a few weeks.

It also provides virtual career coaching services to clients pursuing training programs, including one-on-one mock interviews, resume reviews, and group workshops. Additionally, participants have access to supportive services such as rent assistance (including immediate back rent support).
