College of DuPage extends alternative instruction plan through May 15

As the impact of the coronavirus pandemic becomes more pronounced and in accordance with recent Centers for Disease Control recommendations and national and statewide extended guidelines for social distancing, College of DuPage has extended alternative instruction plans through Friday, May 15, to ensure the safety of students, faculty and staff.

In a recent update to the College Community, President Dr. Brian Caputo outlined the following:

• Online and alternative instruction will be extended through the end of the spring 2020 semester (May 15). For those courses whose laboratory and clinical sessions cannot be accomplished online, the arrangements for make-up sessions will be announced as soon as environmental conditions allow for reasonably safe in-person instruction.

• The in-person commencement ceremony originally scheduled for May 15 has been cancelled. Instead, the college will conduct a virtual ceremony. Details about the virtual ceremony will be announced as soon as its arrangements have been made.

• The college has learned of two COD students who have contracted the coronavirus. The DuPage County Health Department has advised that, based upon the known dates of testing and the last dates the students were on campus, those students were not contagious while on campus.

Caputo reiterated that College of DuPage leadership is committed to keeping the COD Community informed throughout these challenging times.

All college coronavirus updates will be posted to cod.edu/coronavirus, as they become available.
