Residents invited to Route 53/120 Blue Ribbon Advisory Council workshop
Wauconda Mayor Mark Knigge would like to invite residents to a design workshop for the Route 53/120 Blue Ribbon Advisory Council to be held on Thursday, Feb. 9.
Wauconda's Mayor Mark Knigge is proud to serve on the Route 53/120 Blue Ribbon Advisory Council. The council, made up of local mayors whose jurisdictions would be significantly impacted by the improvements, meets to help gain regional consensus on whether the Tollway should move forward; the preferred scope and configuration of the route, if approved; recommended design and elements; and how best to finance the project.
The event will feature a number of nationally recognized experts in the areas of transportation/tolling, land use and environmental issues. These experts and others will speak to the specific challenges and opportunities in the corridor, and guide the group through an interactive process to review and refine potential design options.
The meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 at the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, 233 S. Wacker Drive, Suite 800, Chicago.
