Join Overdose Awareness Event Aug. 31 in Naperville

To honor those lost to substance use disorder, the Path to Recovery Foundation will be sponsoring its third annual Overdose Awareness Event from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, along the Naperville Riverwalk, 912 Honorary Sindt Memorial Court.

The evening will include speakers, a prayer service, tree dedication, and a candlelight ceremony. Narcan training will also be available. All are welcome.

The Path to Recovery Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, is committed to supporting, educating and promoting recovery for both individuals and families struggling with substance use disorders. The most recent accomplishment in this mission was realized when PATH opened the first recovery coaching facility in DuPage County.

The facility is located at 710 E. Ogden Ave., Suite 320. Services available include recovery coaching sessions for families and individuals. In addition, online family recovery group sessions offered; and a bi-weekly grief support meeting.

This year's Naperville 5K/Half Marathon Race will be held on Sunday, Oct. 17 . You can help support the Path to Recovery Foundation and our Family Addiction Support Services by participating in this year's race. Their goal is to raise $30,000 so we can continue to help support families struggling with addiction.
