SCARCE not accepting donations at this time

Following recommendations regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus from Gov. Pritzker and Illinois Public Health officials, SCARCE is closed until Tuesday, April 7, to allow for social distancing.

Early actions to increase social distancing are the best way to contain the spread of COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

SCARCE has made this decision after thoughtful consideration in order to protect the health and safety of visitors and staff.

They will not be accepting material donations during this time and all donation appointments have been canceled through Sunday, April 5.

In an effort to align with the Centers for Disease Control's guidelines, SCARCE has canceled all in-person education and volunteer programs through Thursday, April 30, to allow for social distancing.

Many recycling extravaganzas and community events may also be canceled. SCARCE staff are doing their best to work with the event organizers to keep the listings up-to-date. Double check the SCARCE calendar or with event hosts before leaving your home.

SCARCE hopes to reopen on Wednesday, April 8, at the new location at 800 S. Rohlwing Road in Addison. They are actively monitoring COVID-19 (coronavirus) news and taking into consideration the latest recommendations from public health experts. Note that this information may change, so check scarce.org frequently for the latest updates.
