West Chicago's Gallery Theater sets audition dates for fall production

Gallery Theater of West Chicago will hold auditions for "Murder by the Book" on Tuesday, August 28, and Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Callbacks, if necessary, will be on Sunday, Sept. 2. The performance dates are October 12-14.

"Murder by the Book" is a comedy/mystery for 4 men and 6 women to play people impersonating the famous writers Mark Twain, Edgar Allen Poe, William Shakespeare, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Emily Dickinson, Charlotte Bronte, Louisa Mae Alcott, Agatha Christie and Mary Shelley. The last female role is that of the maid.

The fun script offers delicious roles for actors to wear period costumes and create fascinating characters. The age range is from the mid-twenties and upward. Auditions will consist of readings from the script with an optional one-minute monologue.

For those interested in playing the prolific Shakespeare or the contemplative Emily Dickinson, join Gallery Theater for their fall production of "Murder by the Book." Auditions will take place at Gallery 200/STUDIO, 203 Turner Court, West Chicago. For more information, call (630) 234-5919, or email gallerytheater@gmail.com.

Gallery 200/STUDIO, the venue for Gallery Theater, is a cultural initiative supported by the City of West Chicago and the West Chicago Cultural Arts Commission and is one more reason West Chicago was named an Illinois Arts Friendly Community in 2007.
