Health dept. encourages you to join in state's Yellow Dot program

DUPAGE COUNTY—The DuPage County Health Department is urging residents to participate in the State of Illinois' new Yellow Dot Program, which could save the lives of people involved in a serious car accident.

Those who are willing to participate in the Yellow Dot Program simply fill out a medical card, which must contain their photo, emergency contact information, the name of their personal physician, any medical conditions, a list of recent surgeries, any allergies and current medications being taken. After you fill out your card and place it in your glove box, you simply place your yellow dot sticker on your back window. It's that simple.

“If you've been in a serious car accident, it is vital that a first responder has your accurate medical information to ensure you receive the proper care,” said Linda Kurzawa, president of the DuPage County Board of Health. “I would encourage all DuPage County residents to participate in this life-saving program.”
