Immaculate Conception High School celebrates 75 years

The school year at Immaculate Conception High School is in full swing and so are the celebration plans for this remarkable milestone. ICHS officials have recently released a schedule of 75th anniversary events along with a special logo and theme to brand this historical moment. The line-up of events is focused on making sure that the alumni, as well as our students, parish and local community are the focal part of the yearlong celebration. We want everyone to feel the excitement and spirit of the IC KNIGHTS!

“This year is meant to be a tribute to Immaculate Conception High School – its students, faculty, staff and administration from the past 75 years” said President/Principal Pamela Levar, “We've included many opportunities for our alumni and friends to not only connect with our school, but reflect on the many great accomplishments of our students throughout the years”.

The 75th Anniversary All School Reunion will kick off the year of events, which has been themed “Celebrating Tradition – Building our Future”. This all-inclusive reunion is this Friday, October 7th, beginning at 5:00pm on the IC Lawn at the corner of Cottage Hill & Arthur. ICHS will be sponsoring a 75th Anniversary Alumni Speaker Series beginning in February of 2012 and running through April. The speakers, which will be notable alumni of the high school, will present on a variety of topics to enlighten students and community alike.

This year we will also be trading in our St. Patrick's Day Green and donning our Knights Blue for the annual Spring Road St. Patrick's Day parade in Elmhurst. Whether we're on a bus, a float, or marching down the street, ICHS students and athletes will be loud and proud as we stroll down Spring Road celebrating 75 years of excellence.

On Saturday, April 21st, the annual Knight of Jewels Gala will take on a whole new look at a new and larger venue to accommodate this year's birthday bash! This spectacular evening features dinner, live & silent auctions, and dancing with alumni and friends of ICHS.

Finally, the 75th Anniversary year will conclude with the ICHS Jubilee Weekend on Friday June 8th through Sunday, June 10th. Friday features the 20th Annual Scholarship ICHS Golf Outing that has become a favorite for many alums. The festival weekend will continue with the “Taste of IC” on Saturday designed for the whole family. The final event will take place with a closing Mass to be celebrated on Sunday along with a special closing ceremony.

“It is my hope that our alumni will try to attend all of our events, as it is their involvement that makes ICHS such a special place” explains Levar. “We have a fantastic group of students at the school now and have had so many fantastic students in the past. I am excited to bring them all together in celebration of our 75 years of blessings”.
