Andy Warhol exhibit at COD's Gahlberg Gallery to Aug. 6

More than 150 original Polaroid and black and white photographs by famed artist Andy Warhol will be on display through Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Gahlberg Gallery in the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn.

The prints, gifted to the college in August 2008, are part of the Andy Warhol Foundation's Photographic Legacy Program. The Gahlberg Gallery is one of more than 180 college and university art museums throughout the U.S. to receive prints as part of the Warhol Foundation's 20th anniversary.

In all, the Warhol Foundation donated 28,543 original photographs, valued at more than $28 million. Selected institutions, including the Art Institute of Chicago, Columbia College's Museum of Contemporary Photography and the University of Illinois' Krannert Art Museum, each received approximately 150 prints.

The Gahlberg exhibit includes several Polaroid portraits of Italian painter Francesco Clemente, Princess Caroline of Monaco, Ryan O'Neal, Bianca Jagger and Calvin Klein.

The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays and Saturdays, 6 to

8 p.m. Saturdays and during all Mainstage performances. The gallery also is open by appointment.
