COD Medical Imaging students win national, state awards
College of DuPage Diagnostic Medical Imaging students recently took top honors from the Association of Collegiate Educators in Radiologic Technology and the Illinois State Society of Radiologic Technologists conference.
Katelin Pritschet of Lisle took first place and Amber Kelley of Oswego third place from ACERT for their descriptive posters. Pritschet, a second-year Radiography student, received $100 for her poster, “Neurofibromatosis Type 1.” Kelley, a first-year Sonography student, earned $50 for her poster, “Cleft Palate.”
During ISSRT's recent annual conference, a variety of students earned honors:
Scientific Papers: Inga Zymantas of Naperville took first place for “Alzheimer's Disease – Remembering the Facts,” and Pritschet took second place for “Neurofibromatosis Type 1.”
Pathology Poster: Timothy Snyder of Western Springs earned third place for “Familial Adenomatous Polyposis” and Pritschet earned fifth for “Neurofibromatosis Type 1.”
The Diagnostic Medical Imaging Radiography Team earned third place in the Scholar Bowl. Members were Jonathan Sarmiento of Woodridge, Christian To of Glendale Heights, Katie Voss of Elmhurst, and Zymantas.
Rosanne Paschal, professor of Radiography, said the posters and papers were developed from Pathophysiology courses taught by herself and Terrie Ciez, professor and coordinator of Sonongraphy. The posters were displayed at the annual Pathophysiology Panorama this past December.
