COD sees significant change

Jan. 6, 2011, will mark the two-year anniversary of Dr. Robert L. Breuder becoming president of College of DuPage. During his tenure, COD has added more than 20 new academic programs, engaged the community in an unprecedented strategic planning process that now guides all short and long-term objectives, and is currently revitalizing the physical campus to make it more inviting for students and the community.

Through best practices College of DuPage has improved efficiency while staying on track to achieve a fund balance of 50 percent of its previous year's operating revenue by 2011, one year ahead of schedule. Most recently, President Breuder oversaw successful passage of a $168 million referendum for building improvements.

“We are delighted to close this second year with the approval of our referendum,” President Breuder said. “The approval is significant public affirmation of our stewardship, especially given the current economy. We will continue to earn the public's trust by ensuring that COD remains the region's primary source of education, cultural experience and workforce development.”
