ECC Foundation welcomes Robin Seigle as its newest board director

Robin Seigle said being a member of the Elgin Community College Foundation board of directors is another way to serve her community.

The West Dundee resident and ECC alumna looks forward to providing more opportunities to help students succeed.

"Since attending ECC, I have watched the school grow to become an important part of our community," Seigle said. "I enjoy helping people succeed and participating with the ECC Foundation is a perfect way to help future generations of the college's students."

Seigle is a 1974 graduate of Dundee-Crown High School in Carpentersville. She attended ECC for a year before transferring to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where she graduated with a degree in art education in 1979.

Seigle is actively engaged with a number of organizations in the greater Elgin area. She has served or currently serves on the boards of the Elgin Community Crisis Center, Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, Frontenac Homeowners Association, and Suzuki School of Elgin.

Through the years, she has been active with her synagogue, Congregation Kneseth Israel, along with Elgin Symphony Orchestra League, Food for Greater Elgin, and Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) of Elgin. Seigle and her dog have volunteered for over 10 years in the Animal Assisted Therapy Program at Advocate Sherman Hospital.

Ian Lamp, president of Lamp Inc. and chair of the ECC Foundation board of directors, said Seigle is an excellent addition.

"The strength of our board lies in the fact that it's comprised of individuals who represent the community at large, bringing a wealth of professional expertise and experiences to the table," he said. "Our members offer different perspectives as we work toward a common objective of providing economic resources to help ECC's students achieve their academic goals. I am very pleased to have Robin Seigle join us, with her impressive record of community service and experience as a college alumna."

Founded in 1984, the ECC Foundation raises funds through private donations to remove financial barriers, reward academic excellence, and advance learning for ECC students.
