Find out how to get 'The Debt-Free Degree'

John Wasik, author of "The Debt-Free Degree: How to Eliminate College Debt at Every Step," a new eBook from Forbes Signature Series, will speak to parents and students Tuesdays, May 10 and Monday, May 16, at the College of Lake County about how to finance a college education without going deep in debt.

The free presentations will each begin at 7 p.m. on the following days and locations:

• May 10 at the CLC Lakeshore Campus, Room 008,1 N. Genesee, St., Waukegan

• May 16 at Grayslake Campus, Room C005 (C Wing Auditorium), 19351 W. Washington St.

Wasik has spoken to crowds from coast to coast on investing, retirement and protecting your money. As a personal finance columnist/blogger for Reuters, he covers investing/investor protection, financial planning, taxes, insurance, retirement, college and life planning.

His columns have been seen in newspapers on five continents and he regularly comments on top economic news in all media. As former special projects editor for Consumers Digest magazine, he has won 18 awards for his columns and investigative reporting, including the National Press Club award for Consumer Journalism.

In his new book, Wasik writes that the $1.2 trillion in student loans hobbling more than 40 million Americans is an immoral act of the government and banks.
