15U Elite White Sox baseball travel team tryouts Aug. 4-5
The Bulls/Sox Academy will be hosting 15U Elite White Sox baseball travel team tryouts for their 2015 team on Monday, Aug. 4, and Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Benedictine University baseball complex in Lisle.
The Bulls/Sox Academy is excited to announce that it is establishing a 15-U elite travel team for next season under the direction of Jim Adduci Sr.
He is a former Major Leaguer, who has been with the Bulls/Sox Academy for over 17 years and is currently the Director of Elite Baseball.
Jim Adduci Sr. is a product of Brother Rice High School on the Southwest side of Chicago. In 1977, Jim was drafted out of high school by the Philadelphia Phillies but opted to attend Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. After completing his junior year at SIU, Adduci was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 7th round of the 1980 MLB amateur draft. He made his major league debut on September 12, 1983 with the Cardinals at age 24. Over the course of his professional career, Jim Sr. also played for the Milwaukee Brewers, Philadelphia Phillies and in the Japanese Major Leagues for the Yokohama Tayio Whales. Jim Adduci is a member of the Southern Illinois University and Brother Rice HS Sports Hall of Fame. Jim has also trained his own son, Jim Adduci Jr., who is currently an outfielder with the Texas Rangers.
The new 15U Elite level travel team is looking for highly skilled players, preparing to play baseball at the collegiate level. Exposure opportunities are a top priority at this age level.
Tryouts will be held Monday, Aug. 4, 2014 and Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Benedictine University Baseball Field located at 5700 College Road Lisle, IL 60532.
Players must attend the Monday, Aug. 4 prostyle tryout, in order to participate in the Tuesday, Aug. 5 gameplay tryout format. We recommend players arrive 15-20 minutes before each tryout session.
NOTE: If inclement weather occurs on Monday, Aug. 4, the tryout will be moved indoors to the Bulls/Sox Academy in Lisle located at 6200 River Bend Drive Lisle, IL 60532.
Off-season semiprivate hitting lessons, defensive position specific training sessions and team practices occur throughout the year.
