Hersey’s girls volleyball team improved its record to 2-0 on Tuesday with a 25-15, 25-12 victory over host Hoffman Estates in the Mid-Suburban League crossover.

The Huskies were led on attack by senior Anna Mullen-Muhr (8-8, 4 kills) and sophomore Gabriella Olhava (5-7, 4 kills) while freshman Liz Fuerst and senior setter Abby Fesl each had 2 kills.

Fesl was 29-of-29 setting with 13 assists and classmate Taylor Schill collected 9 digs and 3 aces.

Megan Solans led the Huskies with 4 aces against the Hawks (0-2).

Barrington d. Wheeling: Lauren Shechtman (9 kills), Julia Thompson (7) and Christy Roney (3) led the attack for the Fillies, who improved to 2-1 with a 25-17, 25-15 homecourt victory.

Chase Kingwill and Maggie Daleen each had a block for the winners while junior setter Claire Waliczek collected 17 assists.

Shechtman (6 aces), Waliczek (3) and Nikki Nixon (2) led the Fillies serving. Shechtman had a team-high 9 digs and Emily Casaletto added 7.

Senior Amanda Mullin had 3 kills for the Wildcats (2-1) and Sydney Keith 2.

Buffalo Grove d. Conant: The Bison came away with a 24-26, 25—19, 25—14 triumph as junior Alaina Murphy (12 kills), sophomore Monica Brown (6) and senior Alyssa Mills (4) paced the attack for BG (3-4).

Teammates Marie Goergoulis handed out 26 assists and Lea Masciopinto was 15/23 on passing.

Jenn Donnell led the attack for Conant (0-2) with 11 kills while Sarah Manczko added 4. Taylor Levitt collected a team-high 12 digs.

Schaumburg d. Rolling Meadows: The host Saxons won their season opener as senior captain Kelly Koutnik put down 11 kills and junior Kiana Lewis added 3 in a 25-18, 25-14 victory.

Sophomore Jada Blackwell handed out 12 assists for the Saxons while senior Marisa Christy had 6 along with 3 aces.

Palatine d. Prospect: Taylor Fricano and Cassie Chaplinsky each had 8 kills and Val Soderstrom added 2 for host Palatine in a 25-12, 25-22 victory.

Teammate Alex Heidrich handed out 19 assists while the Pirates’ passing was led by Casey Dolen (12 digs), Cayla Kendzior (10) and Sarah Schiffner (5).

Senior Julie Mazur led Prospect (0-3) with 2 kills while classmate Holly Hunt had one.

Harper d. Madison Area Technical College: Harper (4-1) won its N4C match 25-21, 22-25, 25-20, 18-25, 15-13 over the No. 8-ranked Wolfpack (NJCAA Division III poll). .

Erinn Hellweg and Veronica Drabowski each had 11 kills to lead the Hawks’ attack which was set by Kelly Somers (30 assists).

Megan Kollmeyer (19 digs), Hellweg (17), Sommers (15), Sarah House (11), Sam Wallenberg (7) and Stephanie Igielski (7) paced the Hawks’ back row.

Sommers (24-of-25, 4 aces) and Wallenberg (15-of-15) were top servers against Madison (3-2).
