Get All the Veteran's Benefits You Deserve
Carol Stream, Ill. – September 19, 2013 – Older U.S. military service veterans frequently don't obtain all the veteran's benefits for which they're qualified. Veterans Administration Accredited Claims Agent Jerry Schmitt will describe the benefits available and how to access them at a presentation on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. at Windsor Park, a Covenant Retirement Community, 124 Windsor Park Drive, Carol Stream.
During his presentation “Understanding Your VA Benefits,” Schmitt, a Certified Financial Planner® and Veterans Administration Accredited Claims Agent, will discuss how wartime veterans or their surviving spouse may be eligible for tax-free assistance. According to Schmitt, eligible wartime veterans from World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War may receive up to $2,054 per month. Paid directly to the applicant, the funds can be used to pay for assisted living care at home, at an assisted living community, or in a nursing care community.
Schmitt's presentation will address the many types of benefits available to veterans, VA pensions, health care entitlement and enrollment, dependency and indemnity compensation, survivors' benefits, and more. Following his presentation, he will answer questions from the audience.
