String Theory Yarn Co. hosts annual Scarf Market Fundraiser

The String Theory Yarn Company, located at 477 N. Main Street in downtown Glen Ellyn, has chosen the DuPage Homeownership Center to receive proceeds from this year's annual String Theory Scarf Market Fundraiser.

Every year during the holiday season, String Theory sells handmade scarves to raise money for a different local charity. Scarves are made and donated by talented customers of the yarn store. Because the scarves have been donated, every dollar raised is given to the charity. String Theory has set a goal this year of raising $10,000 for the DuPage Homeownership Center.

The DuPage Homeownership Center is a nonprofit organization that provides a full range of free services to promote responsible sustainable homeownership, with an emphasis on serving first-time homebuyers, low- and moderate-income households and counseling homeowners in crisis.

“We are thrilled that String Theory has chosen us for this remarkable annual event,” DHOC Director Deba Olson said. “This will be an opportunity for people to do high quality holiday shopping while supporting a crucial service for our community.”

Scarf Market began November 23rd and will continue until December 29th. For more information about Scarf Market, please contact the String Theory Yarn Company at (630) 469-6085 or visit http://www.stringtheoryyarncompany.com/.
