Girls ages 9 to 11 invited to join Serve City Spikers volleyball program

The new Serve City Spikers in-house volleyball training program is coming to the western suburbs. Girls ages 9 to 11 will learn the basic skills and strategies of this increasingly popular team sport in a positive, high-energy environment. The program launches with two 10-week sessions beginning the week of March 21 and running through early June at Evangel Baptist Church's gymnasium in Wheaton.

Spots are limited to 18 girls per session. Session 1 runs from 5 to 7 p.m. on Mondays from March 21 to June 6. Session 2 is offered from 5 to 7 p.m. on Fridays from March 25 to June 3. Registration is $125 along with a $10 fee for a Serve City Spikers t-shirt.

The Spikers takes a child-friendly approach to volleyball skill development, using soft volley lite balls, smaller court sizes, shorter nets and games-based learning to make younger players' introduction to the sport an exciting, age-appropriate experience.
