'The Wizard of Oz' come to Prairie Center in June
The greatest family musical of all time, "The Wizard of Oz," is landing right in Schaumburg as HOTT Productions-Helping Others Through Theatre, the suburb's premier community theater organization, brings this national treasure to The Prairie Center for the Arts this June.
Click your heels together and join Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, Dorothy and her little dog Toto, as they journey through the magical land, helped and hindered by the Witches of Oz, to meet the Wizard and obtain their heart's desires.
Featuring the classic songs, as composed by Harold Arlen, "Over the Rainbow," "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead ", "If I Only Had A Brain" and "If I Were King of the Forest"; along with the beloved characters, "The Wizard of Oz" will have the entire family captivated as they travel down the yellow brick road for an unforgettable afternoon/evening at the theater.
"The Wizard of Oz" will be performed at The Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Court, on Saturday, June 18 at 2 and 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, June 19 at 2 p.m.; Friday, June 24 at 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, June 25 at 2 and 7:30 p.m.

The Wizard of Oz is produced and directed by Chris Seminaro of Schaumburg and features musical direction by Jim Franklin of Barrington; choreography and costume design by Donica Luzwick of Hanover Park; set design and construction by Bill Janz of Streamwood and Paul Hunter of Elk Grove.
The Wizard of Oz features the talents of Nicole Silver of Schaumburg as Dorothy; Tony Rakittke of Rolling Meadows and Jeff Mazzuca of Arlington Heights as the Scarecrow; John McNally of Roselle as the Tin Man; David Schuringa of Streamwood as the Lion; Julie Alvarado of Bloomingdale as Glinda, Lindsey Gad of Buffalo Grove as the Wicked Witch of the West; and Karl Vachlin of Roselle as Professor Marvel. The Wizard of Oz combines these leads and a gaggle of Munchkins together with a diverse dancing and singing ensemble including moms and sons, dads and daughters, and sisters and brothers into an energetic, family friendly show!
HOTT Productions is an Illinois not-for-profit company created solely for the purpose of Helping Others Through Theatre. HOTT Productions is proud to be the only community theater staffed fully by volunteers and founded solely with the mission of donating proceeds to charitable organizations.
