Lavelle Law Attorney Hosts ISBA Webinar on Underperforming Practices

Attorney Kerry Lavelle, founder of Lavelle Law, Ltd., will host the ISBA Law Ed webinar, "Fixing the Underperforming Practice" on Wednesday, March 7, from noon to 1:00 p.m. The webinar is presented by the Standing Committee on Law Office Management and Economics and ISBA Law Ed, the Continuing Legal Education provider for Illinois lawyers.

During the webinar, Lavelle will discuss the ways in which to transform an underperforming practice into a well-performing one. He will cover the benefits of a well-performing practice as it relates to the firm's partners, staff attorneys, employees and clients. Listeners will learn how to identify an underperforming practice, why a fix is necessary and what tools are needed to transform the firm.

"As a firm grows, it can be a challenge to recognize that a practice is underperforming and identify who should take ownership of the fix," says Lavelle. "But in this webinar, I'll walk through tactics for recognizing the root of the problem and coming up with strategic approach for fixing it."

After managing Lavelle Law for 25 years, Lavelle ceded the day to day operation of the firm so that he could launch a new practice group within the firm, Lavelle Consulting, to focus on assisting other law firms improve their overall performance and opportunity for success. Lavelle Consulting works with firms of all sizes to evaluate internal operations and using best practices, identify ways in which efficiency and profitability can be maximized.

In addition to tips for improving performance, the webinar will also address practice management issues such as how to create a successful business plan for optimal economic flow and ways to build a marketing approach that will bring in valuable clients.
