COD Women's Soccer Win District Championship, Head to Nationals

The College of DuPage Lady Chaparrals soccer team recently defeated the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Golden Rams (Minnesota), clinching the district championship and a shot at the Division III national title.

Team members edged out their opponents in penalty kicks after the Golden Rams tied the score, sending the game into overtime. The Lady Chaps have a brief respite before Division III National Championship play begins Nov. 7.

The 2015 season marks the team's fourth consecutive Region IV title. The Lady Chaparral kickers' last trip to the national tournament and last national title came in 2011. They play under head Coach William Fajkus.

The team is 15-5-1 this season and was undefeated in its conference. The Lady Chaparrals had 75 total goals this season, averaging 3.4 goals per game. Visit the National Junior College Athletic Association page for the team's full stats.
